Working with K&CZL Architects & Planners, Roald was the Project Designer on this $17 million restoration and remodeling project. St. Joseph Cathedral was built in 1877, and features a domed neo-classical edifice.

The paintings on the left side of this page are among seven beaux arts style watercolor renderings that Roald executed for this project.

Some of Roald's other responsibilities on this project included:

  • Design of a 50,000 square foot Chancery/Rectory/Parish Hall.
  • Client contact in programming and design presentation.
  • Coordination of seven consultants on design and CAD.
  • Coordination of consultants and specialty craftsmen for earthquake reinforcing, stained glass restoration, exterior plaster restoration, sculpture and painting restoration and remodeling, and the restoration of a 100-year-old mechanical organ.
  • Design of liturgical furniture and altars.
