Albrechtson Residence

1992

Passive solar heating is a major feature of this octagonal plan.

A central masonry stair atrium provides a large internal mass that "stores" heat for the evening, as well as a way for air and light to pass among the rooms.

The structure features glue-laminated beams, super-insulated truss walls designed by Roald, tongue-and-groove pine flooring, four-way glass and a steel fire-place.

3800 sq. ft.
$250,000 = $66/sq.ft.
